Chapter 73 - The Bloodline of the Architect

The air pressure plummeted so rapidly that Daniel’s eardrums popped. The violent sea breeze died instantly, replaced by a suffocating, dead silence that felt like stepping inside an acoustic vacuum.
From the dreadnought’s deployment ramp, two small figures stepped into the open air.
They looked no older than five years old. Twin boys, with platinum-blonde hair cut with clinical precision, wearing pristine white tactical pressure suits. Their eyes were not human; they shone with an intense, steady golden radiance that seemed to bend the very light around them. They held hands as they stepped off the steel platform—and they did not fall.
They hovered.
"Gravimetric resonance..." Claire gasped, emerging briefly from the hatchway, her face pale as a corpse. "Sarah didn't just clone you, Daniel. She merged your DNA with the extraterrestrial cipher recovered from the Mariana Trench. Those boys aren't human. They are biological singularity engines!"
The twins looked down at the submarine. In unison, their heads tilted at a precise forty-five-degree angle. They opened their mouths, and instead of children's voices, an electronic, harmonic tone shattered every light bulb, every digital screen, and every piece of glass across a two-mile radius.
*CRACK!*
The remaining three harpoon cables didn't snap from heat—they spontaneously disintegrated, reduced to molecular dust by the focused acoustic frequency of the twins. The submarine plunged back into the raging sea, crashing into the waves with bone-crushing force. Tons of dark water cascaded over the deck, sweeping Daniel off his feet.
He grabbed the perimeter rail with one arm, fighting against the suffocating pull of the ocean. He looked up through the wall of falling water.
The twins were descending through the air like fallen angels, their golden eyes locked directly onto Daniel.
"Father," both boys spoke simultaneously, their voices reverberating inside Daniel’s brain. "Surrender your marrow. The Mother requires the final sequence. Resist, and we will dismantle your cellular structure atom by atom."
"Go to hell!" Daniel shouted, pulling his secondary sidearm and unloading the remaining clip at the descending children.
The bullets never touched them. Six inches from their bodies, the lead slugs flattened against an invisible kinetic barrier and dropped harmlessly into the ocean.
The boy on the left raised his hand. A wall of invisible, kinetic force slammed into Daniel's chest like a runaway freight train. Daniel heard two of his ribs snap as he was thrown backward, crashing through the wooden bench on the upper bridge and skidding across the iron plates. Agony flared through his torso, hot and sharp, stealing his breath.
"Daniel!" Claire scrambled out of the lower hatch, her eyes wild. She raised an anti-materiel rifle, aiming directly at the floating twins. "Get away from him!"
Before she could pull the trigger, the boy on the right merely glanced at her. The rifle twisted in her hands like wet clay, its steel barrel knotting itself into an unusable pretzel. The sheer kinetic pressure sent Claire sprawling across the deck, knocked unconscious as her head struck the hatch coaming.
Daniel coughed up a mouthful of dark blood, struggling to push himself up on shaking arms. His vision blurred. He watched the two golden-eyed boys land silently on the wet deck, their pristine white boots never even splashing in the seawater.
They approached him with the steady, emotionless rhythm of executioners.
"Your resistance is illogical, Father," the twins said. "Your genetic code belongs to Black Horizon. You are merely the vessel that kept it warm until the new world was ready."
The boy on the left reached down, his small hand glowing with a blinding, golden heat, aiming straight for Daniel's sternum. Daniel braced for the end, his teeth clenched in raw, defiant hatred.
Suddenly, a tiny, blood-covered hand grabbed the twin's wrist.
The golden light flickered. The twin’s eyes widened in genuine, biological shock.
Lily was standing there.
Blood was pouring from both her nostrils, running down her chin and dripping onto her soaked pink pajamas. But her crimson eyes were burning with a fire ten times hotter than before. The aura around her was no longer just red—it was the color of fresh, arterial blood mixed with the pitch-black void of deep space.
"You don't touch my daddy," Lily growled.

And for the first time since the nightmare began, the two genetically perfected gods looked terrified.
